Workshops without 'three-letter abbreviations'
5 May 2022
It's all about 'As is – To be'
We need to get a nuanced picture of reality and everyday life at Ole Larsen before we can come up with concrete proposals for digital changes that will make a positive difference and create business value. At the workshop, there is room to talk about very specific challenges from everyday life. How does the system show a planned trip, how do employees use the system, and where are the gaps today?
To ensure the best mapping, representatives from several Ole Larsen departments are present in the workshop.
The end goal is to create a data platform that ensures an efficient and smooth data flow, and a Service Bus that provides the foundation for real-time data, built around best practices in event-driven architecture.
It sounds somehow miles far away from everyday life when you sit and manage the transport of goods on trucks. For the same reason, smart 'three-letter abbreviations' are not thrown across the table when we hold workshops. We talk about the technical solutions, so that everyone can participate and can contribute with their experiences and experiences from everyday life. As a driver, dispatcher or administrative employee.
We also move away from the meeting room. Jump in the truck, sit down with the dispatchers or go for a walk in the warehouse. It is only when we understand the business down to the daily details that we can deliver real and value-creating digital transformations.
At NexusOne, we always start with the customer's customers – and create digital changes that contribute to user-friendly and customer-facing business processes. In this way, we can meet the business goals of the company.
Speaking of goals, we still have a few workshops left (and some development work) before Ole Larsen's data platform is ready to run and able to process large amounts of data in real time. We are looking forward to it.
"From day one, we had an honest dialogue and understood each other. The consultants from NexusOne had a good sense of our digital maturity and were therefore able to help move us. They have challenged us along the way and have come up with input and ideas that have moved us faster than we had thought."
